The Assistant Director of the Black/African American Cultural Center is a 12-month full- time, Administrative Professional position reporting directly to the Director of the Black/African American Cultural Center (B/AACC). The Assistant Director shares in providing leadership for the mission of the center through the initiation, development, administration, supervision, advising, training and guiding FTE and student staff, individual students, and student groups providing appropriate support and resources.
The Assistant Director provides leadership in the development and the implementation of education and outreach programming on social justice issues. Knowledge of, and experience with, educational programming from an intersectional framework is a core component of this position. In addition, this position will actively embrace and role model CSU’s Principles of Community.
The Assistant Director assumes leadership responsibilities and delegated decision-making authority for all department operations in the absence of the Director. Some evening and weekend work hours depend on program and event offerings or to best meet the needs of our students.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the department will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Signing bonus of up to $2,500 may be considered for the successful candidate and up to $1,250 for relocation expenses. Travel expenses for interviews will be limited to a maximum of $1,000 per candidate.
