ABOUT THIS ROLE:
You will report to the Director of Underwriting, Workers' Compensation and provide administrative support to the Underwriting Department in various capacities. Examples of administrative support include preparing files, acting as a point of contact to members/brokers, data collection/management, preparing payroll audits, and assisting with inter-department projects. The Account Technician role works heavily in Microsoft Word, Excel, and various database systems. This position is hourly, non-exempt, allows telecommuting up to 3 days a week from home and must be a commutable distance to our Granite Bay, Ca office.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Prepare files and assist in the collection of payroll allocation data from members
- Prepare files and assist in the calculation of Experience Modification Factors
- Collect and manage exposure data from members
- Input, update, edit and maintain data integrity in various database systems
- Assist Underwriters with the preparation of new and renewal submissions/proposals
- Communicate as needed with the Department of Industrial Relations
- Assist in the preparation and data management of payroll audit-related processes
- Manage the process of data collection with complete accuracy on time
- Assists the BETA Accounting Department in the collection of monthly contributions
- Prepare and mail monthly notices to members due to delinquent status
- Independently compile, compose, type, proofread, edit, and print memos, correspondence and other documents for department use.
- Must have reliable and safe transportation to other BETA offices and business partners. Employees using their vehicle for business must maintain a valid California driver's license, proper vehicle registration and California's minimum automobile insurance coverage limits
- Other duties, as requested
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in customer service and/or administrative support, preferably in the insurance industry
- Experience managing multiple projects in a collaborative setting
- Organization and time management skills related to project management
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel and be able to learn and implement specialty software systems and procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to proofread the work of self and others with a high degree of accuracy

Competitive hiring salary range: $25.23 to $28.20 per hour to commensurate with experience
